Naim HDX-SSD/ DAC/ 555PS

$18k is a lot to spend on a Cd player, but this is much more than that and, once heard, you would understand this is a world class digital playback system. How it works: the Naim HDX is a transport/ better-than-perfect Cd/hard drive/SSD ripper ($5395) which feeds the unique 40-bit, 768kHz upsampling Naim DAC ($3695) which double buffers the data before sending it through the actual DAC chip. Those two pieces sound terrific together, but the PS555 power supply ($9345) transforms them into an outrageously good and utterly organic digital playback system. Remote, boxes and Burndy power supply cable included.
*We're going to sell this as a system for awhile because it just 'belongs together', but may consider splitting it up down the road.
