Audio Research REF250SE Power Monoblock Amplifier Pair
250 watts per channel from a monoblock chassis that ARC designed with one purpose: eliminate every constraint the REF250 imposed and then remove the SE designation as the only justification needed for the revision. The power supply is 50 percent larger than the original REF250. The output tube complement is KT150 throughout — three matched pairs of KT150s on the output stage, one matched pair on the driver stage, with 6H30 tubes in the gain stage and a 6550C handling regulation. The KT150 is the most linear, most powerful, and most dynamically capable octal output tube in current production, and ARC built the REF250SE around it because it is the tube the circuit was always waiting for.
250 watts into 8 ohms. Fully balanced differential circuit from input to output. Input impedance 200k ohms. Frequency response 0.5Hz to 110kHz at -3dB. Total harmonic distortion below 0.04% at 1 watt. The front panel carries an analog meter — adjustable illumination, switchable between power output and tube bias display — because ARC builds amplifiers for listeners who want to know what is happening inside the chassis. We offer a 3-day return window on all purchases. Returns made to a credit or debit card will incur a 5 percent processing fee. Shipping costs, both to and from, are the responsibility of the customer if applicable.
After the 3-day window and up to 3 weeks from the date of purchase, items may still be returned, subject to a 20 percent restocking fee.
