Transparent Hardwired Toslink Digital Cable — 10ft
Transparent's Hardwired series is their entry-level line — fixed terminations, no network module, straightforward construction. The TOS designation is Toslink: optical digital, the standard fiber optic connection found on TVs, streaming devices, CD players, and DACs with optical inputs. At 10 feet, this is toward the longer end of what plastic optical fiber handles well, but still within the reliable range for standard audio signal transfer.
Toslink's practical advantage over coaxial digital is galvanic isolation — the optical connection breaks the electrical ground path between components, which eliminates a potential source of ground loop hum. Useful in mixed A/V setups where components share power with televisions or other consumer electronics.
Pre-owned. Toslink connectors are plastic and the spring-loaded dust caps wear with repeated insertion — worth a look at both ends before listing. The fiber tip should be clean and unscratched; a plastic optical cable with a damaged tip won't transfer reliably regardless of brand.
