Fisher SA-16 Tube Amplifier
At its heart, the SA-16 runs a quartet of EL84 output tubes (two per channel) in push-pull configuration, delivering roughly 15 watts per channel. Drive it with efficient speakers, and you’ll get detail, texture, and dynamics many “higher power” amps only dream of. Up front, you’ve got preamp tubes (12AX7/ECC83 family) doing the heavy lifting of signal shaping with that classic tube bloom. The power supply is traditional AC mains with tube rectification (EZ81 / 6CA4 in some revisions), giving the sound a warmth and slow-rise charm that digital gear can’t mimic.
Speakers get hooked up to binding posts that support multiple impedance loads (4Ω / 8Ω / 16Ω), giving you options depending on your speaker’s demands. The SA-16 isn’t particularly heavy in the power spec sheet, but what it gives is richness: midrange clarity, sweet highs, and a tone that’s lean, articulate, and full of personality.
