Purist Audio Design Dominus — Speaker Cable, 8-Foot Pair, Spade Terminated

The Dominus is Purist Audio Design's flagship. Not the reference tier — the flagship. Every design decision in the line below it exists as a step toward this cable.

The Ferox designation marks the compound at the core of what makes PAD cables unusual. Ferox is a metallic particle suspension fluid that floods the space between the conductor and the outer jacket. The theory is mechanical rather than electrical: the compound absorbs vibration and damps the resonance that conventional dielectrics leave unchecked. In practice it makes for a cable that is exceptionally heavy and inflexible — which tells you immediately this isn't a cable built around convenience.

The Dominus conductor is a high-purity silver/platinum alloy wound in PAD's multi-tube geometry. The combination of conductor metallurgy and Ferox dampening pushes noise floor lower than virtually anything else available at the time of its production run, and the result is a cable that doesn't color so much as it removes what was masking the signal underneath.

8 feet is a practical run for most dedicated listening rooms. Spade termination on both ends. Ferox-era Dominus — not the later Luminist or Contego revisions — for listeners who know what that distinction means.
