McIntosh MCD500 SACD / CD Player
The MCD500 was McIntosh's reference disc player for several years, and it earned that position. It plays SACD and CD, converts both through a 32-bit DAC with four-times oversampling, and outputs via balanced XLR and single-ended RCA — meaning it can serve as a DAC for an external digital source as well. Digital inputs are on board: coaxial, optical, and AES/EBU. If your library is on disc, this is the machine built to read it the way it was intended.
The McIntosh house sound is here: authoritative, warm without being slow, wide without losing center focus. The MCD500 does not require apology in a serious system. It holds its own alongside considerably more expensive current digital sources, particularly on SACD, where the format's native resolution gives the machine something worth doing.
The build is what you'd expect from McIntosh: the illuminated front panel, the solid chassis, the sense that it will still be working thirty years from now. Preowned McIntosh disc players tend to stay in service.

We offer a 3-day return window on all purchases. Returns made to a credit or debit card will incur a 5 percent processing fee. Shipping costs, both to and from, are the responsibility of the customer if applicable.
After the 3-day window and up to 3 weeks from the date of purchase, items may still be returned, subject to a 20 percent restocking fee.
For shipped orders, customers must notify us within 3 days of receiving the item to initiate a return. Once the item is received back in the same condition it was sent, we will issue a refund minus all shipping charges and a 5 percent credit card processing fee.
