The MMG was Magnepan's entry point into planar magnetic sound — sold factory-direct at a price that made the technology accessible, and consistently embarrassing conventional box speakers at two and three times the cost. Magnepan built them in White Bear Lake, Minnesota for decades before transitioning the lineup to the LRS, which means the MMG is now out of production. A clean pair in white is increasingly hard to find.
The physics are the same as the larger Magnepan models: a planar magnetic driver instead of a cone, a quasi-ribbon tweeter, and a dipole radiation pattern that fills the room differently than a forward-firing box speaker. The trade-offs are real — they need room to breathe away from the back wall, they need a current-capable amplifier that doesn't clip at 4 ohms, and they don't play loudly by conventional standards. What they give back is imaging and midrange transparency that dynamic speakers at this price don't approach.

We offer a 3-day return window on all purchases. Returns made to a credit or debit card will incur a 5 percent processing fee. Shipping costs, both to and from, are the responsibility of the customer if applicable.
After the 3-day window and up to 3 weeks from the date of purchase, items may still be returned, subject to a 20 percent restocking fee.
