The DWM is Magnepan's answer to a problem that matters specifically to Magnepan owners: how do you add bass extension to a planar magnetic system without introducing a conventional dynamic woofer that sounds different from everything above it? A box subwoofer fires in one direction, pressurizes the room, and operates on fundamentally different physics than a planar speaker — the timing, the dispersion, and the character rarely match. The DWM is a planar magnetic woofer module, designed to extend the bass of smaller Magnepan speakers (.7, 1.7i, and similar) while maintaining the same dipole radiation pattern, the same driver technology, and the same sonic character as the speakers it augments.
Panel design, floor-standing, passive — it requires external amplification rather than having a plate amplifier built in. That's the correct approach for a system where the amplifier matching has already been thought through. Black finish, made in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, same factory as every Magnepan speaker.

We offer a 3-day return window on all purchases. Returns made to a credit or debit card will incur a 5 percent processing fee. Shipping costs, both to and from, are the responsibility of the customer if applicable.
After the 3-day window and up to 3 weeks from the date of purchase, items may still be returned, subject to a 20 percent restocking fee.
For shipped orders, customers must notify us within 3 days of receiving the item to initiate a return. Once the item is received back in the same condition it was sent, we will issue a refund minus all shipping charges and a 5 percent credit card processing fee.
