Esoteric E-02 Phono Preamplifier
Esoteric built the E-02 as their reference phono stage — fully discrete circuit, no op-amps anywhere in the signal path, dual mono layout from input to output. MM and MC both supported, with MC loading and gain adjustable via rear-panel switches so you can dial it in for whatever cartridge you’re running without buying a different box.
Three separate regulated power supplies handle different sections of the circuit independently, which is the kind of thing that shows up as a lower noise floor and a cleaner separation between channels. The HCLD output stage — Esoteric’s own High Current Line Driver — handles the final output with the same topology they use in their reference CD players.
Built in Japan. Discontinued, which means the only way to own one now is used.
