“Is Echo becoming Definitive?”

Nope! Echo isn’t going anywhere. We’re expanding, not replacing. Think of it like adding another layer: Echo stays true to its roots, and we’re building a separate experience in the back that reflects what Definitive does best: Access to some of the best gear in the world backed up by decades of expertise.

"Are you back to normal hours?"

Yep! Wednesday through Saturday 11AM-5PM.

“Why is half the store gone?”

We’ve restructured the space to better support what Echo’s best at, and to start introducing new experiences we think Portland will love.

“Where’s the headphone section?”

We phased it out to make room for higher-performing categories. That said, we’ll still carry the best used pieces as they come in.

“Can I still trade in my gear?”

Absolutely. Trade-in and trade-up are still core to what we do. In fact, we’re expanding those programs.

“Can I buy what’s in the back now?”

In most cases, yes. If it’s set up, it’s for sale. Some systems are still being dialed in, but we’re happy to walk you through what’s what.

"Are you guys doing a grand opening?"

Not yet. We’re taking our time to get it right. You’ll hear from us when it’s ready...and it’s going to be worth the wait.

“Are you guys still doing loan outs?”

We’re reworking how we handle loaners as part of the evolution here. Some gear may still qualify, especially on the Echo side, but not everything in the store is available for home trials. If there’s something specific you’re interested in, we’re happy to talk it through and see what’s possible.

“Are you still doing consignment?”

On a case-by-case basis. It’s not a major part of our business anymore, but for the right pieces, we’re happy to have the conversation.
