Technics Grand Master Turntable SL-1200GME Silver

The SL-1200 is the most influential turntable ever made. The GME is how Technics said goodbye to it — a limited Master Edition run of exactly 1,200 units in silver, serialized, badged, and built to the highest specification the platform has ever reached.

The twin-rotor coreless direct drive motor runs on Technics' ΔΣ-Drive system with PWM carrier frequency pushed above 20kHz — well past the audible range — eliminating the motor noise and micro-vibrations that plagued earlier direct drive designs. The result is rotational accuracy and speed stability that belt-drive tables spend thousands trying to approximate. A 3.6kg three-layer platter combines aluminum, brass, and rubber-coated underside for mass, rigidity, and resonance control in one package.

The tonearm is magnesium — lightweight, rigid, and critically damped with αGEL silicon insulators that absorb external vibration before it reaches the stylus. Four-layer cabinet construction isolates everything from the outside world. High-precision bearings throughout.

Gold tonearm. Gold accents. Serialized Master Edition badge. This is the collector's version of a turntable that already belonged in every serious collection.
