The Class D implementation here is Marantz's own — an all-new switched-mode power supply developed specifically for this chassis, not a commodity module. The dual-mono layout means the two channels share nothing: separate amplifier boards, separate power supplies, separate signal paths. Balanced XLR inputs and outputs throughout. MM/MC phono built in with three selectable MC loading impedances — 33, 100, and 390 ohms — which covers virtually every moving coil cartridge you'd actually use with an amplifier at this price.
The chassis is triple-layer copper-plated. The rear panel is copper-plated. The interior is illuminated. The porthole on the front face contains a full HD TFT color display and an analog-style level meter. Marantz made this in Shirakawa, Japan and it shows in every surface.
