Cary SLI-80 Integrated Amplifier
At its core, this is a push-pull KT88 design — two tubes per channel, fixed-bias, fully point-to-point wired. No circuit boards, no shortcuts. The kind of construction that audiophiles argue about online but Cary just quietly builds. Inside you'll find Mundorf coupling caps, Dale resistors, an Alps motorized volume control, and gold-plated binding posts throughout. The parts list reads like someone actually cared.
The real party trick is the triode/ultralinear switchability. In triode mode, you're running 40 watts of pure Class A — liquid, intimate, and dangerously musical. Vocals sit in the room with you. Instruments breathe. Switch to ultralinear and the amp doubles down: 80 watts of Class AB authority that can grab a harder load without flinching. Two completely different amplifiers. One chassis.
Frequency response runs flat from 19Hz to 23kHz. Noise floor sits 82dB below rated output. Three line-level inputs, a subwoofer out, and enough gain — 34dB — to work with virtually anything in your chain.
Local Pick Up Only.
