Bogen HP010-RXPX

Bogen HP010-RXPX

Many don't consider David Bogen to be a 5-star contender (or entrant) in the 1950's race to build top-level hi-fi equipment; yet he was a brilliant dark-horse scrapper who understood the importance of amplifier-speaker damping and built these 'cooler than cool' 20 watt triode monoblock amplifiers with matching preamps and tube input selectors. The amps have slightly different internals but sound really good. We'd like to see them go to an appreciative buyer who will make them internally identical & hear the best of Bogen + cherish the cosmetics of this generation. Freakishly good condition and functionality. (yes, the original plastic still covers the preamp faceplates). Check out this 1953 hi-fi publication. You'll be astonished by how far we have NOT come and see just one of these "Bogen HP010-rxpx remote control amplifiers" being offered for $147.15. Apparently, the Los Angeles "Audio Fair" was quite a hoot. (Maybe we should have another wherein we actually discuss good sound instead of 'good' business!)
